My work is based in supporting the creation of emotionally supportive spaces for Black and Brown communities, with a specific emphasis on African American and Latino/a/e/x communities. To do this, I (1) conduct community-informed research on emotion expression, regulation and understanding and (2) partner with schools and community organizations to translate and disseminate my research findings into practice by educators, leaders, youth service providers, community health workers, and others who support Black and Brown youth and families.
